StoryWalk® is an innovative and delightful way for children - and adults! - to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time. Laminated pages from a children's book are placed in stands which are installed along an outdoor walking path.
The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. StoryWalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson. There is now a StoryWalk® in all 50 states, along with several countries across Europe and Asia. View the Storybook trails in Ohio on the ODNR website.
About the Coshocton StoryWalk®
The Coshocton StoryWalk® is located at the beautiful Clary Gardens.* There is no cost to walk the trail, and it is open to the
public during Clary Gardens' regular hours. New books are installed seasonally. The Coshocton Storywalk® project was funded in thanks to a generous donation from the Frontier Community Connection Fund.
*Clary Gardens is located at 588 West Chestnut Street in Coshocton. To get to the StoryWalk upon entering Clary Gardens, drive to the top of the drive and make the first (only) right-hand turn in front of the red Compton House. Guests are welcome to park in this lot where public restrooms and a drinking fountain are also located. You'll see a walking path that goes around the red Compton House and the Event Pavilion - the first post of the StoryWalk trail begins right behind the pavilion. Enjoy!
