From the comfort of caregivers’ laps, babies and toddlers can develop early literacy skills at the library. Storytimes include music, rhyming, movement, songs, and stories. Each week babies and toddlers can explore sensory centers, parachute play, the simplest of crafts and activities, and engage in socialization with others.

If a child is 3 years old, the caregiver may determine if Lapsit or Preschool Storytime is more appropriate. The winter session of Lapsit will be held from February 7, 2023 through March 30, 2023.

Each week will have a theme and children can work on developing early literacy skills by reading, writing, talking, singing, and playing at the library. Preschool Storytime also helps children develop social skills, such as self-regulation and peer interaction. Children can build a foundation of school readiness skills to help with future success.
